Below is a page from the "Bulbs: Big Surprises in Small Packages" activity packet. Also included in
the packet are: general information about
plants; definitions; a teacher's page with
background information about bulbs; a math
activity for measuring and graphing the longest
leaves of the students' bulbs each week;
a journal in which students read about the
growth of their bulbs and draw pictures of
them each week; and, a drawing and explanation
of where the fruits, seeds, and other flower
parts are located.
For older students the packet also includes
a world map for locating the Mediterranean
countries from which many bulbs originated,
a history of the bulb craze in Europe and
other activities.
Each participating teacher receives an activity
packet related to his or her specific workshop.
